The workshop is currently planned to take place at Dortmunder U, one of Dortmund’s most distinctive cultural and event venues. The workshop area is expected to be located on the first floor, home to “TU Dortmund im U – Campus Stadt.”

Through this location, TU Dortmund University maintains a visible presence in the heart of the city, creating a space where science, culture, creativity, and public exchange come together.

Dortmunder U is one of the city’s best-known landmarks and combines Dortmund’s industrial heritage with contemporary culture.

The former Union Brewery building has become a symbol of the city’s structural transformation and now houses exhibition spaces, cultural institutions, creative organizations, and university facilities. Its central location and distinctive architecture provide a unique setting for an international academic workshop.

Dortmunder U is located at the western entrance to downtown Dortmund and is easily accessible by public transportation.

The venue is approximately a five-minute walk from Dortmund Central Station. From the station’s main entrance, participants can walk toward Königswall and Brinkhoffstraße. The building is easy to recognize by the prominent golden “U” on its roof.

The nearest light rail stop is Westentor, located directly beside Dortmunder U. It is served by the U42, U43, and U44 lines.

Downtown Dortmund, including restaurants, cafés, shopping areas, hotels, and cultural attractions, is within walking distance.

The central location is therefore convenient not only for the workshop itself, but also for informal meetings, evening events, and individual activities before and after the scientific program.
