Submission Guidelines
Authors submitting an abstract to IWW 2029 are asked to follow the requirements below. Abstracts that do not comply with the formatting or submission instructions may be returned for correction before they can be considered for review.
The online submission system and the official abstract templates will be made available before abstract submission opens.
Abstract Content
The abstract should provide sufficient information for the Programme Committee to assess the scientific contribution.
Authors should clearly describe:
- the objective and scientific context of the work;
- the theoretical, computational, numerical, or experimental methods used;
- the principal results or expected contribution;
- the main conclusions and relevance to the interdisciplinary scope of the International Wigner Workshop.
The abstract must be written in English and should fall within the scientific scope of IWW 2029. Relevant contributions may address Wigner functions and phase-space methods, quantum transport, quantum optics, quantum information, open quantum systems, nanoelectronics, computational physics, mathematical methods, and related applications across science and engineering.
Authors may consult the Topics page for an overview of the workshop’s subject areas.
Preparation Guidelines
Please observe the following requirements when preparing the abstract:
- Maximum length: two A4 pages, including text, figures, tables, and references
- File format: PDF
- Page size: A4, not US Letter
- Margins: 25 mm on all sides
- Font size: 11 pt
- Line spacing: single
- Page elements: no page numbers, running headers, or running footers
- Title: include the full title in the abstract file and do not write the title entirely in capital letters
- Authors: include the full names of all authors
- Affiliations: provide the institutional affiliation of each author
- Presenting author: underline the name of the presenting author
- Figures and tables: include clear and informative captions
- References: include references within the two-page limit
Abstracts may be reproduced or viewed in greyscale. Authors should therefore ensure that colours, symbols, line styles, and labels remain distinguishable without relying solely on colour.
Abstract Template
Authors are encouraged to use the official IWW 2029 abstract template when preparing their submission. The template is intended to help authors follow the required page layout, formatting rules, and structure.
The LaTeX template is available below:
The template follows the IWW 2029 preparation guidelines, including A4 page size, 25 mm margins, 11 pt font size, single line spacing, no page numbers, and no running headers or footers.
Use of the template is recommended. Authors who prepare their abstract without the template must ensure that the submitted PDF follows all formatting requirements listed on this page.
The presenting author should be underlined in the author list. Figures, tables, captions, and references must fit within the two-page limit. Authors should also ensure that figures remain readable when viewed or printed in greyscale.
Submission Procedure
Abstracts must be submitted through the official online submission system. Submissions by email will not be considered unless the workshop team has explicitly requested an email submission.
During the submission process, authors will be asked to:
- enter the abstract title;
- select the most appropriate scientific topic;
- indicate whether the contribution is predominantly student work;
- provide the names, affiliations, and contact details of all co-authors;
- upload the abstract as a PDF file;
- select the presenting author;
- indicate a preference for an oral or poster presentation;
- review the submitted information and confirm the submission.
The submission is complete only after the final confirmation step has been reached.
The corresponding author will receive an automatic confirmation email. Authors who do not receive a confirmation should first check their spam folder and then contact the workshop team.
Multiple Submissions
Authors may submit more than one abstract. Each contribution must be entered as a separate submission and must have its own abstract file.
The presenting author should be available to present each accepted contribution in the format and session assigned by the Programme Committee.
Abstract Amendments
Authors may revise the submission information and replace the uploaded abstract through the online system until the applicable submission deadline.
After the submission system has closed, changes will only be possible in exceptional cases and must be requested by contacting the workshop team.
Withdrawal of an Abstract
Authors who wish to withdraw a submission should contact the workshop team as soon as possible and provide the abstract title and submission reference.
The abstract should not be withdrawn directly by submitting a second or empty version of the file.
Poster Submission
A prior submission of the final poster file is not required unless announced otherwise by the Organizing Committee. Poster presenters are expected to bring a printed copy of their poster to the workshop.
Only the accepted abstract will be included in the review process and, where applicable, in the Book of Abstracts. The final poster itself does not need to be uploaded before the workshop.
If an electronic poster file, preview version, or additional upload is required for organizational or archival purposes, detailed instructions will be provided on this page in due course.
Review and Presentation Assignment
Submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the IWW 2029 Programme Committee. The review will consider:
- relevance to the scientific scope of IWW;
- scientific quality and originality;
- clarity of the objectives, methods, and results;
- suitability for presentation and discussion within the interdisciplinary Wigner community.
Authors may indicate a preference for an oral or poster presentation. This preference will be considered but cannot be guaranteed. The final presentation format will be determined by the Programme Committee.
The corresponding author will receive the review decision by email according to the schedule published on the Call for Abstracts page.
Accepted Contributions
Acceptance of an abstract does not constitute registration for the workshop. At least one author of each accepted contribution must register for IWW 2029 and present the work during the assigned session.
Accepted abstracts are intended for inclusion in the IWW 2029 Book of Abstracts. Authors are responsible for ensuring that the submitted text, figures, author names, affiliations, and references are accurate and suitable for publication.
Instructions concerning oral and poster presentations will be provided separately on the Presentation Guidelines page.
